Weekly Updated: March 14-18

Hello Parents,

Thank you for sending an extra apple to school today, Monday. We're using them for our Pioneer day, as we're preparing our snack: Dried apples. I also wanted to clear up a misunderstanding. Last week the student were given two geometry quizzes. The first one, 2D shapes, was given to students on Tuesday and then on Wednesday students were given time to correct their quiz. Because I was so impressed with students excellent efforts, I wanted to send the quizzes home so the students could show off their knowledge. That being said some answer were corrected, which caused some parent confusion. I hope this clears things up!

Lastly, just a reminder that THIS Wednesday is our Pioneer Day. Students are to dress in Pioneer clothing for the day, plus they are asked to bring a lunch packed in a box and wrapped with wrapping paper. The lunch should be a GOLD lunch with no pre-packed foods. Students need only pack a small snack, as we'll be making and eating pioneer food throughout the day. Thanks for your enthusiastic participation!

Have a wonderful week!

Mrs. Kullman

Weekly Update: February 28th - March 4th

Hello Parents,

I hope and trust you had a wonderful long weekend. I know I did! Thank you to those parents who came for student-led conferences. I think it's so important to the development of students and their learning to be able to show you, their parents, their work. If you missed Thursday student-led conferences I'm hosting an alternative day this Friday from 3:00-3:30. Please come and see the amazing work your children have been doing this term.

I also wanted to remind parents to practice the spelling words that are weekly printed in your child's agenda. These words are ones they struggle with, and need to be practiced. Over the past month we have seen a steady decline in spelling ability. I believe this is from a lack of practice. I have changed our spelling lessons in class to reflect those areas that need more assistance (homophones, capitalization, tough ou spellings...). I would encourage you to review these words throughout the week, as they are essential words for students to master. Thank you!
